High Quality Interior Design is one of the many New Features that Marks the new Mercedes-Benz M-Class
The all new M-Class builds on the strengths of the second generation of M-Class Mercedes-Benz models. Consumers can choose from models with V6 or V8 engines including the ML 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC, ML 500 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY and ML 63 AMG. With its horizontal exterior lines, impressive rear width and high performance without compromising on quality makes the new M-Class stand above the rest for its interior and exterior design, spaciousness and overall drive.
The new M-Class represents the third generation of Mercedes-Benz’s luxury mid-size sport utility vehicles. First introduced in 1998, the M-Class has been available at Hong Kong car dealers for some time now. Hong Kong residents appreciate the refinement and efficiency making the M-Class a strong seller domestically.
Mercedes-Benz has taken luxury car interior comfort to a new level with the new M-Class. The high-quality elegant interior has been ergonomically designed, with wood trims accentuating its generous outline. The rounded dashboard design is much different than other squared-off Mercedes-Benz models and is reminiscent of the Jeep Grand Cherokee in its appearance. Another impressive feature is its four-spoke multifunction steering wheel covered with Nappa leather and steering-wheel gearshift paddles. It comes equipped with a sliding sunroof, letting car owners bring a little more of the outdoors to their driving experience.
The Mercedes-Benz M-Class compares favorably to the Porsche Cayenne S, Infiniti FX50 or BMW X5 xDrive50i who have all won high praise for their sporty handling and acceleration. M-Class owners will enjoy excellent road handling on any terrain because of the 4MATIC permanent all-wheel-drive system that’s available on the ML 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC and ML 500 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY models. It comes with a Dynamic Handling package that includes 20-inch wheels and adaptive air suspension, improving both ride and handling. Other features such as the anti-lock braking (ABS), acceleration skid control ASR and DSR (Downhill Speed Regulation), 4ETS enhance the vehicle’s traction when driving over uneven surfaces and in all types of weather including rain and snow.
One of the features that have been introduced in the new M-Class is re-engineered powertrains. The ML 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC model sets the standard with all-wheel drive boasting a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 302 hp and a maximum torque of 370 NM’s at 3500-5250 rpm’s. The ML 500 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY also sports a V8 cylinder 3.6 liter engine that puts out a strong 408 horsepower and a whopping 530 NM’s at 2800-4800 rpm’s. And for those off-road motoring enthusiasts that crave more power, the high-performing ML 63 AMG comes with a standard V8 engine, 525 horsepower and a maximum torque of 370 NM’s at 2000-5000 rpm’s.
The exterior styling doesn’t disappoint Mercedes-Benz fans as it strikes a balance between tradition and the updated look of Mercedes-Benz models. As always with a Mercedes, it’s marked by a high quality construction and solidity. The exterior proportions of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC, ML 500 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY and ML 63 AMG haven’t changed dramatically, yet the engineers have updated their look through a greater attention to detail. A buff front air dam and aggressive new character lines give the body a more pronounced definition. The vehicle’s sides are marked by shoulder-lines that continue all the way back, ending at the traditional-looking tail.
Where the M-Class models, including the ML 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC, ML 500 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY and ML 63 AMG, set itself apart from its rivals is with its active and passive safety that goes well past the standard requirements and consumer expectations. SUV owners will find it hard to live without the Attention Assist, which looks for signs of driver drowsiness such as weaving; triggering a coffee-cup icon on the dashboard and emitting warning beeps helping owners avoid accidents on long drives. Other options that may be added and have been designed with the driver in mind include PRE-SAFE® occupant protection system, which can recognize dangerous driving situations and activate safety systems in order to reduce the threat of occupant injury.
As evident by its new look and additional features, the new M-Class delivers the ultimate in driving experience in the luxury mid-size sport utility vehicle class.
