St. Joseph County Council has declared the area near AM General plant in Mishawaka economic revitalization zone Thursday night, opening the way for future reductions.
Bright automotive is seeking a reduction in investment of $ 17.5 million for new equipment general plant pm. $ 5.5 million will come from AM General, the rest of Bright.
Bright wanted to use part of the plant to build the idea of a hybrid delivery van.
"AM General has a fantastic reputation for assembling vehicles in General and we are looking for high quality contract manufacturing to bring these vehicles to market as fast as carefully as possible and I is one of those people that we are reaching out to," said Mike Donoughe, Chief Operating Officer of Bright.
The plan is to start manufacturing the idea Bright by the end of 2013 and early sales in 2014. The schedule depends on the company that received a u.s. Department of Energy loan up to $ 400 million and other financing.
